That’s a really, really good hypothetical, right there. (And, of course, a good cartoon!)
Of course, asking Republicans to follow things to hypothetical conclusions is a lost cause. When they were asking for special privileges for Bush, I kept asking “would you have wanted Clinton to have that power? What happens when a Democrat gets the presidency?” and they invariably would have a mental meltdown and change the subject.
And now that Obama’s become president they’re mentally melting down over such trivialities as a speech to schoolchildren.
